The Table They Kept Adding To
Sabrina came to Sunday lunch once as somebody's friend from work and simply never stopped coming. Elton's grandmother started laying a sixth place before anyone had discussed it, and by the third year the table itself had to be replaced. Nine Sundays short of a decade, both families are sitting down together on purpose for the first time — a church in the afternoon, a long table under glass, and room enough for all of it.
